Book Triumph
Triumph is a rock band from Canada formed in 1975, popular in the late 1970s and through the 1980s and built on its fame as a live band. The trio of guitarist Rik Emmett, drummer Gil Moore and bassist Mike Levine is known for spectacular stage shows with lasers, pyrotechnics and big, soaring guitar solos. Its eleven studio albums began with Triumph in 1976, Rock & Roll Machine in 1977 and Just a Game in 1979, and the group is remembered for the songs "Lay It on the Line" and "Magic Power." Triumph earned Juno Award nominations for group of the year in 1979, 1985, 1986 and 1987, plus a nomination for rock album of the year in 1993. In 2008 the group entered the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Triumph's music is melodic hard rock with a stadium sound, and its performances are loud, theatrical and fun.
