Celebrity appearance fees

Celebrity appearance fees

How much do celebrities charge for appearances? Less than you might think for some, a lot more for others. Here's how celebrity appearance fees work when the job isn't a full concert, and what pushes the number up or down.

What counts as an appearance?

An appearance is any booking where the main job is showing up rather than performing a full show. Think hosting a gala, walking a red carpet, a meet and greet with photos, cutting a ribbon at a store opening, a short speech, a panel, or dropping by a party for an hour. Musicians, actors, athletes, comedians and TV personalities all do them.

How much do celebrities charge for appearances?

On this site, estimated fees run from under $25K to $5M+, in nine wide fee ranges. An appearance often lands lower than the same person doing a full performance, because there is less production and a shorter time on site. But that is not a rule, and the biggest names charge top dollar for anything. Use the celebrity booking fees list to see the estimated range for any act, and the cost guide for how the ranges break down.

Appearance fees by type of celebrity

Athletes are popular for corporate events, autograph sessions and sponsor nights. Examples in the $25K–$50K range: Steven Gerrard, Arjen Robben, Michael Ballack. Speakers work keynotes and panels; browse categories to find them. Actors and TV names are a natural fit for hosting and red carpets. Comedians can host and do a short set in one booking. Musicians sometimes do appearances without singing, which is worth asking about. All fee ranges are estimates, not quotes.

What moves an appearance fee

  • Time on site. Thirty minutes of photos is a different ask from a full evening of hosting.
  • What they do. Speaking, hosting, posing for photos and posting on social media are each separate asks.
  • Travel. A celebrity who lives nearby or is already in town costs less to bring in.
  • Date and season. Busy weekends and holidays go first.
  • Exclusivity and promotion. Using the name in ads, or keeping them from nearby events, adds to the price.

Budget for the extras

On top of the fee, plan for flights, hotels, ground transport, security and hospitality. If there is a speech or a performance, add sound and staging. Ask for these to be spelled out in the terms so there are no surprises.

How to book a celebrity appearance

Decide what you want the celebrity to do and for how long, pick your date and city, and shortlist a few names across a couple of fee ranges. Then send one inquiry and tell us it is an appearance rather than a show, so the terms we bring back match.

Every act page on c-e-l-e-b.com has a Check availability button that opens our inquiry form. Fill in your date, city, event type and budget range and send it. Our booking desk at Altus Entertainment takes it from there and comes back to you with availability and real terms.
