Book Mike Ness
Mike Ness is an American guitarist, vocalist and songwriter who leads the punk rock band Social Distortion, which he founded in 1978 after hearing the Sex Pistols. He left high school at seventeen to pursue music, and the band's early releases included the Mainliner/Playpen single in 1981 and the albums Mommy's Little Monster (1983) and Prison Bound (1988). After signing with Epic Records in 1989, Social Distortion made Social Distortion (1990), Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell (1992) and White Light, White Heat, White Trash (1996), and issued the live record Live at the Roxy in 1998. Ness also appeared in the film Another State of Mind, which followed the band's first cross-country tour. Outside the band he released two solo albums in 1999, Cheating at Solitaire and Under the Influences, and he founded Black Kat Kustoms. On stage he delivers gritty, roots-informed punk with a vintage rockabilly and country streak running through the songwriting.
