Book Alejandro Escovedo
Alejandro Escovedo has spent close to five decades writing and touring, and his peers have honored that run with the Americana Music Association's Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance in 2006, a place in the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame in 2021 and induction into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2023. The guitarist, singer and songwriter came up in San Francisco's first punk wave with the Nuns, spent time in New York's downtown scene, then helped shape Austin roots rock with Rank and File and True Believers, the band he shared with his brother Javier. His solo career opened with Gravity in 1992 and Thirteen Years, and he has since released fourteen studio albums, including A Man Under the Influence, The Boxing Mirror, Real Animal, Street Songs of Love, Big Station, Burn Something Beautiful and The Crossing. He sang on Whiskeytown's Strangers Almanac sessions with Ryan Adams, and that group later recorded a cover of one of his True Believers songs. His recent records include La Cruzada (2021), a Spanish-language take on The Crossing, and Echo Dancing (2024).
