Book Counting Crows
Counting Crows are a Berkeley, California, rock band that got together in 1991, fronted by singer Adam Duritz, whose vivid, confessional lyrics have defined the group for decades. Their 1993 debut August and Everything After and its breakthrough single "Mr. Jones" made them stars, earning Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and for "Round Here," plus the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. The follow-up Recovering the Satellites (1996) went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and the band kept the momentum going with This Desert Life (1999), Hard Candy (2002) and Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings (2008). Fans know them for "Rain King," "A Long December," "Hanginaround" and their take on Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi." Their Shrek 2 song "Accidentally in Love" brought Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. Later work includes Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did on Our Summer Vacation) (2012), Somewhere Under Wonderland (2014) and Butter Miracle: The Complete Sweets! (2025), supported by the 2022 Butter Miracle Tour. Famous for dynamic, spontaneous concerts, Counting Crows deliver emotional, ever-evolving performances of songs that have soundtracked generations.
