Book Tonic
Tonic is an American rock band founded in 1993 by frontman Emerson Hart and guitarist Jeff Russo, known for big melodic guitar rock and Hart's warm, gritty vocals. After signing with Polydor Records in 1995, the band released its debut album Lemon Parade in 1996, which produced the radio staples "Open Up Your Eyes" and "If You Could Only See," both strong performers across rock, alternative and adult alternative airplay charts. Tonic built its name as a tireless touring act, playing show after show while also contributing songs to film soundtracks. The self-produced Sugar arrived in 1999, followed by Head on Straight in 2002, which brought two Grammy nominations: Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Take Me As I Am." The band returned to the road in late 2008 with a tour and a greatest-hits set, then released the self-titled Tonic in 2010. Fans helped fund Lemon Parade Revisited, an all-acoustic reimagining of the debut, in 2016, and "To Be Loved" followed in 2021. Tonic delivers a hit-filled set that works in full electric or acoustic form.
