Book Them Crooked Vultures
Them Crooked Vultures is a supergroup that came together in Los Angeles in 2009, uniting Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age on vocals and guitar, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters on drums and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin on bass and keyboards. Guitarist Alain Johannes joined the trio for live shows. Sessions started that winter, and the group played its first show at a small Chicago club before issuing the self-titled album Them Crooked Vultures in November 2009. The song "New Fang" won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance, and Grammy.com lists one win and one nomination. The project paired Homme's desert-rock riffs, Grohl's powerhouse drumming and Jones's funky, intricate bass lines in sprawling live sets, and it toured worldwide in 2009 and 2010 to enormous crowds and festival audiences.
