Book Ray Davies
Sir Ray Davies, born in 1944, is an English musician who was lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and primary songwriter of the rock band The Kinks, with his younger brother Dave on lead guitar and backing vocals. He wrote the band's classic songs, including those on Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) in 1969 and Lola in 1970. He has acted in, directed and produced stage and television shows, and he wrote the memoir X-Ray in 1995. As a solo artist his albums include The Storyteller in 1998, Other People's Lives in 2005, Working Man's Café in 2007, The Kinks Choral Collection in 2009 and See My Friends. He founded Konk, was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire, received MOJO Awards and was knighted in 2017. In concert Davies is a witty, charming storyteller.
