Book Allah-Las
Allah-Las are a Los Angeles rock band formed in 2008, known for a sun-soaked, reverb-drenched sound rooted in 1960s garage rock and California surf culture. Drummer Matthew Correia and bassist Spencer Dunham met guitarist Pedrum Siadatian while working at Amoeba Records, then added their school friend Miles Michaud on vocals and guitar, and all four members sing. Their first 7-inch, "Catamaran" backed with "Long Journey," came out in 2011, produced by Nick Waterhouse, and "Tell Me (What's on Your Mind)" followed in 2012 on Innovative Leisure. Reviewers heard echoes of The Zombies, The Kinks, The Yardbirds and Arthur Lee's Love in their music. A 2012 Daytrotter session produced a "Catamaran" performance ranked among that site's top songs of the year, and NPR's World Café spotlighted the band. Their self-titled debut album arrived in September 2012, followed by Worship the Sun in 2014, Calico Review in 2016, LAHS in 2019, Zuma 85 in 2023 and Sirenas in 2026. Live, Allah-Las deliver dreamy, jangling guitar rock with an easygoing West Coast vibe.
