Book Easy Life
Easy Life, now performing as hard life, is an English alternative indie-pop band formed in Leicester in 2017 by frontman Murray Matravers. Their laid-back mix of indie, hip-hop rhythms, jazzy chords and wry, conversational lyrics built a fast following, beginning with the 2017 single "Pockets" on Chess Club Records before they signed to Island Records. Mixtapes Creature Habits, Spaceships and Junk Food, plus singles like "Nightmares," "Sunday" and "Earth," set the stage for their debut studio album, life's a beach (2021). They placed second in the BBC's Sound of 2020 poll, appeared on Later... with Jools Holland, headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2019 and later graduated to the festival's Pyramid Stage in 2022. Their second album, MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE (2022), continued the run, and in June 2024 the group came back billed as hard life, with onion (2025) following. Whether billed by the old name or the new one, the group delivers a breezy, groove-led live show with singalong hooks, Matravers' charismatic delivery and the easy summer energy that made their records festival favorites.
