Book Les Claypool

Les Claypool is a musician, filmmaker, author and winemaker from the United States, and the founder, lead singer, bassist and main songwriter of Primus. His bass style mixes tapping, strumming that echoes flamenco, bends with the whammy bar, and slap technique. Beyond Primus he has played in Oysterhead with Trey Anastasio and Stewart Copeland, Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, Duo de Twang with Bryan Kehoe and The Claypool Lennon Delirium with Sean Lennon, and he leads Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade and Les Claypool's Fancy Band. He works from his California studio, Rancho Relaxo. Primus has performed the theme to South Park since 1997 and appears in its opening titles. His solo releases include 5 Gallons of Diesel and Be Careful What You Wish for... in 2005, Of Whales and Woe in 2006 and Of Fungi and Foe in 2009. In 2006 he debuted as a filmmaker with Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo and as an author with the novel South of the Pumphouse, and Primus toured that year on The Beat a Dead Horse Tour. He has three Grammy nominations. His live shows are eccentric and funky.
