Book Trey Anastasio
Trey Anastasio is the American guitarist, singer and composer best known as the lead guitarist and principal songwriter of Phish, the jam band he co-founded in 1983. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, in September 1964 and raised in Princeton, New Jersey, he is credited as composer on 152 original Phish songs, most of them written alone, and his long, intricate improvisations have built one of American rock's most devoted touring followings. Beyond Phish he has released eleven solo albums and led or joined a string of side projects, including the Trey Anastasio Band, Oysterhead, Ghosts of the Forest, Phil Lesh and Friends and Surrender to the Air. He has performed his orchestral works with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and many others. With lyricist Amanda Green he composed the Broadway musical Hands on a Hardbody, which earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score in 2013 and won the Dramatists Guild's Frederick Loewe Award. In 2023 Rolling Stone put him at No. 53 on its 250-guitarist list.
