Book Walshy Fire

Walshy Fire, born Leighton Paul Walsh, is an American MC, DJ and producer best known as a member of Major Lazer, the dancehall and reggae-driven group he shares with Diplo and Ape Drums. He came up in 2004 touring with the Black Chiney sound system, whose mixtapes blending hip-hop and R&B rhythms with reggae vocals shaped the Major Lazer sound and served as his training ground as a remix producer. Since 2012 he has been Major Lazer's master of ceremonies, the voice out front who reads the crowd, delivers humor and emotion, and keeps the energy high throughout every set. He contributed production to the Major Lazer releases Apocalypse Soon and Peace is the Mission, co-writing the Chronixx song "Blaze Up The Fire" and adding his vocals to "Too Original." A champion of Caribbean music, he has said his mission is to bring global exposure to reggae and dancehall. His solo album Thanks for Life (2018) earned a Grammy nomination. Walshy Fire brings commanding mic presence, deep sound-system roots and an infectious party energy to festival stages and club nights worldwide.
