Book Switch
Switch is the stage name of David Taylor, an English producer, DJ, songwriter and studio engineer behind some of the most inventive pop and dance records of the 2000s and 2010s. He is a founding member of Major Lazer, the project he launched with Diplo in 2009 on the album Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do, followed by the Lazers Never Die EP in 2010. His long creative partnership with M.I.A. produced tracks across Arular, Kala and Matangi, and his co-production of "Paper Planes" with Diplo earned a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year at the 51st Grammy Awards. Switch also worked on Beyoncé's "Run the World" and has produced for Christina Aguilera, Chaka Khan, Santigold and Brandy. In 2018 he founded the independent label Diary Records, which released Chaka Khan's Hello Happiness in 2019. Alongside his production work he has issued singles under his own name and built a reputation as an in-demand remixer. Behind the decks, Switch brings a producer's ear for heavy bass, global rhythms and genre-bending club energy.
