Book Claude VonStroke
Claude VonStroke is the stage name of Barclay Crenshaw, an American house producer and DJ born in Cleveland in 1971 and based in Los Angeles, best known as the founder of the influential San Francisco label Dirtybird Records. Raised in Cleveland and Detroit, he hosted a radio show in high school and moved from hip-hop toward electronic music, later working on movie sets in Los Angeles. In the early 2000s he made the documentary Intellect: Techno House Progressive, built on interviews with dozens of DJs. He launched Dirtybird in January 2005 and released his debut album Beware of the Bird in 2006, followed by Bird Brain (2009), Urban Animal (2013), Freaks & Beaks (2020) and Wrong Number (2026). He has recorded a Fabric mix and appeared on Pete Tong's Essential Mix in 2007, 2013 and 2020. In 2016 he was voted America's Best DJ in the annual Pioneer DJ and DJ Times poll, and in 2017 he earned Electronic Music Awards nominations for DJ of the Year and for his radio show The Birdhouse. Claude VonStroke brings quirky, bass-driven, irresistibly fun house sets to the dance floor.
