Book Patrick Watson

Patrick Watson is a Montreal singer-songwriter, born in Lancaster, California and raised in Hudson, Quebec, whose cinematic music weaves cabaret pop and classical touches into indie rock. He studied music at Vanier College and leads a band that also carries his name. His album Close to Paradise (2006) won the Polaris Music Prize in 2007, and his catalog stretches from Waterproof9 (2000) and Just Another Ordinary Day (2003) through Wooden Arms (2009), Adventures in Your Own Backyard (2012), Love Songs for Robots (2015), Wave (2019), Better in the Shade (2022) and Uh Oh (2025). His 2010 song "Je te laisserai des mots" became a global phenomenon, a landmark success for a French-language track. Watson also co-wrote and sang on the Cinematic Orchestra's 2007 album Ma Fleur, including the much-loved "To Build a Home." He has toured with John Cale, Feist, Cold War Kids, Amon Tobin, the Dears and James Brown, and his band has shared stages with Philip Glass. His concerts are intimate and atmospheric, with lush arrangements and a voice that can hush a room.
