Kasabian have twice won the Q Award for Best Act in the World Today, in 2010 and 2014, and their reputation on stage has earned them Best Live Act honors at the 2014 Q Awards and the 2007 and 2018 NME Awards. Formed in Leicester in 1997, the band blends swaggering guitar rock with electronic beats and dance grooves, and it broke through with its self-titled 2004 debut, home to "Club Foot." Empire (2006), with "Shoot the Runner," and West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (2009), with "Fire," made the band arena headliners, followed by Velociraptor! (2011), 48:13 (2014) and For Crying Out Loud (2017). In 2014 Kasabian headlined the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival, and it has topped the bill at Reading and Leeds. Guitarist and songwriter Sergio Pizzorno, the band's creative engine, took over as full-time lead vocalist in 2020, with bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and guitarist Tim Carter. That lineup has released The Alchemist's Euphoria (2022), Happenings (2024) and ACT III (2026). Their sets are built on big riffs, pounding rhythms and choruses crowds shout back.
