Book Maya Jane Coles
Maya Jane Coles is a London-born producer, audio engineer and DJ who has become a leading voice in house and techno. She learned production on Cubase at 15, first making hip-hop and trip hop before moving toward house, and she remixed acts including Massive Attack and Gorillaz as half of the dub duo She Is Danger. Her 2010 EP on Real Tone Records was a breakout, with the track "What They Say" becoming a heavily played DJ favorite and earning her recognition as one of the year's standout newcomers. In 2011 she recorded a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix that was nominated for Essential Mix of the Year, and she collected a run of honors including Best Newcomer at the Ibiza DJ Awards and DJ Mag's Producer of the Year. Her albums include Maya Jane Coles (2010), Comfort (2013), Take Flight (2017), Night Creature (2021) and Night Jams, Vol. 2 (2026), while her alias Nocturnal Sunshine explores darker, bass-driven sounds shaped by hip-hop and dub. Her sets are deep, hypnotic and expertly built, with a producer's ear for texture and groove.
