Book Devo
Devo emerged from Akron, Ohio, in 1973 and became a truly distinctive act of the new wave era. The classic lineup was built from two sets of brothers: Mark Mothersbaugh on vocals with Bob Mothersbaugh on lead guitar, and Gerald Casale on bass with Bob Casale on rhythm guitar, plus drummer Alan Myers. The song "Whip It" in 1980 was their lone Billboard Hot 100 top-forty hit, and fans have stayed loyal ever since. Their studio albums began with Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! in 1978 and include Duty Now for the Future, Freedom of Choice, New Traditionalists, Oh, No! It's DEVO, Shout and Something for Everybody in 2010. They run their own Booji Boy Records and have received two Grammy nominations. With matching jumpsuits, energy domes and a satirical view of modern life, Devo offer a quirky, high-concept show unlike any other.
