Book Marillion
Marillion is a British progressive rock band formed in Aylesbury in 1979 that became the leading name of the 1980s neo-prog movement, bridging punk energy and classic prog ambition. The group debuted with the single "Market Square Heroes" in 1982 and the album Script for a Jester's Tear in 1983, followed by Fugazi (1984) and the concept album Misplaced Childhood (1985), which produced "Kayleigh" and "Lavender." Clutching at Straws (1987) closed the era with original singer Fish, and in 1989 Steve Hogarth took over vocals on Seasons End. The band has kept a steady creative pace ever since, with albums including Holidays in Eden (1991), Brave (1994), Afraid of Sunlight (1995), This Strange Engine (1997), Marbles (2004), Happiness Is the Road (2008), Sounds That Can't Be Made (2012) and An Hour Before It's Dark (2022), for a total of 20 studio albums. Marillion still tours internationally and earned a place on Classic Rock magazine's 2008 list ranking the greatest live acts ever. Their shows deliver long-form, emotionally charged songs and a devoted, sing-along fan community.
