Book Cuco
Cuco is the Hawthorne, California, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Omar Banos, whose dreamy blend of bossa nova, indie pop and psychedelia made him a bilingual bedroom-pop star. Teaching himself to write and record, he gained early attention with a slide guitar cover of Santo & Johnny's "Sleep Walk" on YouTube and began releasing songs from his parents' home on Bandcamp and SoundCloud, starting with the EP Heavy Trip in 2015. His 2016 EP, Wannabewithu, featured "Lover Is a Day" and "Amor de Siempre," among his first songs to spread widely online, and he followed it with Songs4u in 2017. That year's single "Lo Que Siento" made him a breakout name and allowed him to leave college to pursue music full-time. Signing with Interscope Records, he released his debut album, Para Mi, in 2019. His second album, Fantasy Gateway, followed in 2022, and he released the EP Hitchhiker in November 2023. His third album, Ridin', arrived in 2025. He sings in English and Spanish over lush keyboards, horns and hazy guitars.
