Book Electric Guest

Electric Guest is a Los Angeles band formed in 2011 by singer Asa Taccone and drummer Matthew "Cornbread" Compton, known for groovy, retro-leaning pop soul. The pair met after Taccone rented a room once occupied by Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton in a house full of musicians, and Compton, a session drummer, began collaborating with him. Burton heard their demos, spent a year urging Taccone to make an album and went on to co-produce their debut. The name came from an older woman who once called Taccone an electric guest of the universe. Their first album, Mondo (2012), steeped in 1970s and 1980s grooves, was hailed by Rolling Stone as a hooky journey into L.A. slacker soul. They promoted the single "This Head I Hold" on the Late Show with David Letterman and also appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Conan. Their music has been featured on Teen Wolf, HBO's Girls and Suits. Later albums include Plural (2017), KIN (2019) and 10K (2025). In concert, joined by touring players Luke Top on bass and Reese Richardson on keys and guitar, Electric Guest deliver smooth falsetto vocals and danceable, feel-good grooves.
