Book Yung Bae
Yung Bae is a DJ and producer from Portland, Oregon, born Dallas Cotton, and a leading name in future funk. His Bae album series flips 1980s Japanese city pop along with American funk and disco into glossy, danceable grooves, a sound he first built through online releases including the Japanese Disco Edits series. The run began with Bae in 2014, then BAE 2, BA3, Skyscraper Anonymous and Bae: Side B in 2016, and B4E in 2017. After signing with Arista Records, he released "Bad Boy" and "Must Be Love," both featured on Bae 5 in 2019, the same year Billboard named him to its Dance Ones to Watch list and he played a 21-date North American tour. Groove Continental: Side A and Side B followed in 2022 and 2023, and 6AE in 2024. His collaborators include Nile Rodgers, Jon Batiste, Method Man, Mike Posner, Channel Tres, Earthgang and Awolnation. He has performed across Asia, including at the National Gallery of Singapore, and at festivals such as Coachella. Live, Yung Bae serves feel-good disco-funk sets built for dancing.
