Book Maribou State
Maribou State is the English electronic duo of Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, school friends from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, known for warm, melodic electronica that blends organic instruments with dance-floor rhythm. They landed their first remix commission, for Hadouken!, at just 16, and debuted as Maribou State in 2011 with the Habitat EP on FatCat Records. Releases on Norman Cook's Southern Fried Records followed, along with remixes for Fatboy Slim, Lana Del Rey, Kelis and Ultraísta, and the 2013 EP Truths with vocalists Jimi Nxir, Holly Walker and Nubiya Brandon. FatCat issued the compilation Beginnings in 2012. Signed to Counter Records, part of Ninja Tune, they released their debut album Portraits in 2015, led by "The Clown" and including the fan favorite "Midas" with Holly Walker. Kingdoms in Colour (2018) featured "Feel Good" with Khruangbin, and Hallucinating Love followed in 2025. The duo has released eight EPs alongside its three studio albums and tours internationally, delivering a lush, uplifting live show that moves between sunset grooves and full-band dance energy.
