Book Clams Casino

Clams Casino is the stage name of Michael Volpe, the New Jersey record producer and songwriter whose hazy, atmospheric beats helped shape the sound of cloud rap in the early 2010s. Raised in Nutley, he started experimenting with keyboards in high school and broke out with the EP Rainforest on Tri Angle Records in 2011, while his free Instrumentals mixtape series, including Instrumentals 2 (2012) and Instrumentals 3 (2013), spread his reputation online. His track "I'm God," first heard on Lil B's 6 Kiss, remains his most famous production, and he officially cleared its Imogen Heap sample in 2020. He signed with Columbia Records for his debut album, 32 Levels (2016), followed by Instrumentals 4 (2017), Moon Trip Radio (2019) and Winter Flower Reimagined (2022). His production credits span Mac Miller, the Weeknd, Joji, Lil Peep, Vince Staples and ASAP Rocky; he has remixed Lana Del Rey and Washed Out, and scored Locomotor, a dance work by his cousin Stephen Petronio. Live, Clams Casino delivers immersive DJ and producer sets built on dreamy samples, heavy drums and lush textures.
