Jools Holland is a pianist, bandleader, singer, composer and TV presenter from England. He began as a session musician, then in 1974 became a founding member of Squeeze, playing keyboards on their first three albums before pursuing a solo career that began with the EP Boogie Woogie '78. From 1982 to 1987 he co-presented the music programme The Tube, and in 1987 he formed his nineteen-piece Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, which has featured the vocalist Ruby Turner. He has fronted Later... with Jools Holland since 1992, and Jools' Annual Hootenanny joined it in 1994. His recordings include World of His Own in 1990, The Full Complement in 1991, Solo Piano in 1994, Tom Jones & Jools Holland in 2004, Jools & Ruby in 2015, As You See Me Now in 2017, Pianola: Piano & Friends in 2021 and Swing Fever in 2024, a collaboration with Rod Stewart. He has performed with Sting, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Dr. John, Bono and Amy Winehouse, and he is an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
