Book Carolyn Wonderland

Carolyn Wonderland is an American blues singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Texas whose fiery guitar work has won admirers including Bob Dylan and Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel. She first toured in the early 1990s fronting Carolyn Wonderland and the Imperial Monkeys, and after settling in Austin in 1999 she became a road warrior, playing over 300 nights a year. Beyond guitar and slide guitar, she plays mandolin, trumpet and piano, and her blues foundation borrows from country, swing, zydeco, gospel, soul, surf and even cumbia. Her eight studio albums include Alcohol & Salvation (2001), Bloodless Revolution (2003), Miss Understood (2008), Peace Meal (2011), Moon Goes Missing (2017), Tempting Fate (2021) and Truth Is (2025). Benson produced Miss Understood and has co-written songs with her, and its title track held a long run on the Roots Music Report chart. She also sang lead on Jerry Lightfoot's Band of Wonder project Texistentialism. Usually backed by Cole El-Saleh on keys and Kevin Lance on drums, Wonderland delivers powerhouse vocals, scorching solos and a rootsy Texas spirit that makes her a favorite on blues and Americana stages.
