Book Foster the People
Founded in Los Angeles in 2009 by frontman Mark Foster, Foster the People is an indie pop band started, a former commercial jingle writer; the lineup also includes keyboardist Isom Innis. Foster's song "Pumped Up Kicks" spread online in 2010, earning the group a deal with Startime International and fans through club gigs and festival slots. Their debut album, Torches (2011), turned "Pumped Up Kicks" into a radio smash that climbed to number three on the Billboard Hot 100, alongside the singles "Helena Beat" and "Houdini." Torches and its breakout single brought the band three Grammy Award nominations. After two years on the road they released Supermodel (2014), led by "Coming of Age," and then Sacred Hearts Club (2017), which featured "Sit Next to Me" and welcomed former touring players Innis and Sean Cimino into the official lineup. A run of singles, an EP and a reissue followed, and in 2024 the band returned with "Lost in Space" and the warmly received fourth album Paradise State of Mind. Live, Foster the People bring sunny hooks, danceable grooves and a singalong set anchored by signature indie anthems of the 2010s.
