Book Capital Cities
Capital Cities is a Los Angeles pop duo formed in 2008 by singer and keyboardist Ryan Merchant and vocalist and keyboardist Sebu Simonian, who met after a stint working in advertising. Their 2011 debut EP featured "Safe and Sound," an upbeat, funky anthem that became a top ten hit and one of the signature indie pop songs of the decade, and the follow-up single "Kangaroo Court" appeared in 2012. The duo released their first full album, In a Tidal Wave of Mystery, in 2013, followed by Solarize in 2018 and A Hurricane of Frowns in 2025. Grammy.com lists one nomination. Blending bright horns, synthesizers and disco-inspired rhythms with a retro-modern sense of style, Capital Cities delivers high-energy, dance-ready shows for festivals, college events, corporate parties and theaters.
