Book The Wombats
The Wombats formed in Liverpool in 2003, and the indie rock trio is made up of singer and guitarist Matthew Murphy, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen and drummer Dan Haggis. After several EPs, they released a first album, Girls, Boys and Marsupials, in Japan in 2006, then issued the major-label debut A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation in 2007, which included "Let's Dance to Joy Division." The catalog continued with This Modern Glitch in 2011, Glitterbug in 2015, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life in 2018, Fix Yourself, Not the World in 2022 and Oh! The Ocean in 2025. Known for sharp, self-deprecating lyrics wrapped in big synth-pop hooks, the band has become a festival regular from England to North America, and its live shows reward singalongs with relentless energy and humor.
