Book Tessanne Chin
Tessanne Chin won the fifth season of NBC's The Voice as a member of Adam Levine's team, earning a major label deal and a national audience for her powerful voice. The Jamaican singer and songwriter, younger sister of singer Tami Chynn, sang with the Jamaican rock band Mile High, whose rock-reggae sound played festivals including Jazzfest and Rockfest, and then spent three years touring as a backing vocalist for reggae legend Jimmy Cliff. She has opened for Patti LaBelle, Peabo Bryson and Gladys Knight. Her 2006 debut single, "Hideaway," was a radio favorite across the Caribbean and on stations in New York, and it appeared on VP Records' Reggae Gold 2007 compilation. She released her independent debut album, In Between Words, in 2010, produced by her guitarist and drummer collaborators Rudy Valentino and Paul KasticK. After her Voice victory in December 2013, she released her major label debut, Count On My Love, on Republic Records in July 2014. Blending soul, pop, rock and reggae with a rich, raspy voice and wide range, Tessanne Chin brings both Jamaican roots and big-stage polish to her performances.
