Book Mark Guiliana
Mark Guiliana is the drummer heard on David Bowie's final album, Blackstar, and a two-time Grammy nominee whose own records have made him a leading voice in modern jazz and electronic-influenced drumming. Raised in New Jersey, he earned a jazz studies and performance degree from William Paterson University in 2003. His résumé spans Brad Mehldau, Meshell Ndegeocello, Avishai Cohen, Gretchen Parlato, Lionel Loueke, Tigran Hamasyan, Dhafer Youssef, Matisyahu and St. Vincent, and he has toured on six continents. With Mehldau on keyboards and synthesizers he formed the electric duo Mehliana, whose Taming the Dragon came out on Nonesuch in 2014. Through his own Beat Music Productions he released My Life Starts Now and Beat Music: The Los Angeles Improvisations, and he leads both the band Beat Music and the Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet. His catalog has grown to 13 studio albums, including Beat Music! Beat Music! Beat Music!, the sound of listening, MARK, questions (volume one), and Straight08 and BEAT MUSIC 2.0 in 2026.
