Book Kamasi Washington
Kamasi Washington is a Los Angeles saxophonist, composer and bandleader who helped lead a jazz revival as a founding member of the West Coast Get Down collective. Raised in Los Angeles and educated at UCLA, he studied under mentors including Kenny Burrell and Gerald Wilson, played on the 2005 Gerald Wilson Orchestra album In My Time and released Young Jazz Giants in 2004. His three-disc album The Epic in 2015 brought his big-band, choir and string arrangements to a worldwide audience, and Heaven and Earth followed in 2018, Fearless Movement in 2024. Grammy.com credits him with two Grammy wins and five nominations, including Record of the Year for "luther" and Best Rap Song for "tv off" at the 68th ceremony. Washington's festival sets blend spiritual jazz, hip-hop and orchestral scale, making him a rare jazz headliner for large rooms.
