Book Jazzmeia Horn

Jazzmeia Horn is an American jazz singer and songwriter whose fearless scatting, rich tone and socially conscious writing have made her a leading voice of her generation. After moving to New York City in 2009 to study at the New School, she formed her first trio within months and debuted on radio on Junior Mance's WBGO show. In 2015 she won the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Competition. Her debut album, A Social Call (2017), was ranked the top album of 2017 by JazzWeek and earned her first Grammy nomination, and she performed at the 60th Grammy Awards ceremony in 2018. Love and Liberation (2019) brought a second nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album, and she has collected three Grammy nominations in all. She followed with Dear Love (2021), recorded with Her Noble Force, and Messages (2024). Horn has performed at The Apollo, toured England, France, Russia, South Africa and Austria, and starred at Australia's Generations in Jazz. Drawing comparisons to Betty Carter, Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson, she delivers electrifying performances of standards and inventive reworkings of songs by artists like Stevie Wonder.
