Book Demetri Martin
Demetri Martin is an American comedian, writer, filmmaker and musician known for his deadpan one-liners, guitar-backed jokes and hand-drawn cartoons. He began doing stand-up in 1997 shortly after leaving law school, and his breakthrough came in 2001 on Comedy Central's showcase Premium Blend. His Edinburgh Festival Fringe show in 2003, If I..., took the Perrier Award and became a BBC special the following year. He wrote for Late Night with Conan O'Brien from 2003 to 2004 and then served as Senior Youth Correspondent on The Daily Show from 2005 to 2008. Comedy Central gave him his own sketch series, Important Things with Demetri Martin, which ran from 2009 to 2010. On screen he appeared in Taking Woodstock (2009) and wrote, directed and starred in the film Dean. Animation fans know his voice as Ice Bear on Cartoon Network's We Bare Bears, and he narrates the prequel We Baby Bears. He is also a Writers Guild of America Award honoree. Live, Martin mixes clever wordplay, music and visual gags into an uniquely inventive show.
