Book Carlos Ghosn

Carlos Ghosn is a businessman and former automotive executive best known for leading the turnaround of Nissan and for running two of the world's major carmakers at once. Born in 1954, he started his career at Michelin in 1978 and spent 18 years with the tire giant, holding a range of leadership posts that included overseeing its South American operations and later serving as chief executive of Michelin North America. In 1999, after Renault took a major stake in a struggling Nissan, he moved to Japan to steer the recovery, first as chief operating officer and then as chief executive, and the restructuring he drove returned Nissan to profit and strengthened its global standing. In 2005 he added the chief executive role at Renault, and in 2016 he became chairman of Mitsubishi Motors, while also chairing AvtoVAZ. His honors include being named a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2002 and a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2006, along with a fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering and several honorary doctorates. He speaks from deep experience on global management, corporate turnarounds and cross-cultural leadership.
