Book Bright Eyes
Bright Eyes grew out of Omaha, Nebraska, where the singer, songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst began the indie rock project. Its core members are Oberst, the multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, and the arranger, composer, trumpeter and pianist Nate Walcott, with a rotating cast of collaborators. The band has twelve studio albums, including A Collection of Songs Written and Recorded 1995–1997 and Letting Off the Happiness in 1998, Fevers and Mirrors in 2000, LIFTED or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground in 2002 and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn in 2005. Oberst's trembling, emotional voice and confessional, poetic lyrics became a hallmark of 2000s indie and folk rock. Bright Eyes concerts shift from quiet acoustic songs to big, orchestrated crescendos, creating cathartic, emotional performances that unite devoted listeners.
