Book Brandon Jennings
Brandon Jennings is an American basketball trailblazer, remembered as the first American high school prospect to skip college and turn professional in Europe. After two years at Dominguez High School in Compton, he transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, where he helped the team go 41 and 1 and, as a senior, averaged 35.5 points per game while setting the school's single-season scoring record. That season he collected the 2008 Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award, the Parade and EA Sports national player of the year honors and Virginia's Gatorade Player of the Year. Instead of college, he signed with Lottomatica Roma in Italy, then entered the 2009 NBA draft, where the Milwaukee Bucks took him tenth overall. He spent four seasons as Milwaukee's point guard before moving on to the Detroit Pistons in 2013, then the Orlando Magic in 2016, the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards, and he closed his NBA run back in Milwaukee in 2017 to 2018. Across nine NBA seasons plus overseas spells in China's CBA and the VTB United League, Jennings built a global career, and he speaks to the choices that shaped it.
