Book Danny Granger

Danny Granger is a retired American basketball forward who spent ten seasons in the NBA and became a star forward for the Indiana Pacers. Raised in Metairie, Louisiana, he starred at Grace King High School, where he dominated as a senior, scoring and blocking shots at an elite rate. A gifted student, he earned admission to Yale but chose Bradley University so he could study civil engineering, and was named to the conference's All-Freshman squad in 2001–02. He then transferred to the University of New Mexico, where he flourished with the Lobos. Indiana drafted him in 2005, and he developed into the franchise's go-to scorer. In 2009 he poured in 26 points a night while shooting 45 percent, earning a NBA All-Star selection and the league's Most Improved Player Award. A knee injury limited him to five games in 2012–13, and a February 2014 trade sent him to Philadelphia, after which he suited up for the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat and then had brief 2015 spells in Phoenix and Detroit. Granger shares stories of smart choices, hard work and growth on and off the court.
