Book Alice in Chains
Alice in Chains is a Seattle rock band that merged heavy metal with dark, harmonized vocals to become a cornerstone of the 1990s grunge movement. Singer Layne Staley and guitarist Jerry Cantrell led the early lineup with bassist Mike Starr and drummer Sean Kinney, and the group broke through with Facelift and its song "Man in the Box," then released Dirt, featuring "Would?," "Rooster" and "Down in a Hole," and the acoustic EP Jar of Flies. Their MTV Unplugged performance remains a classic. Following Staley's death in 2002, the band reunited in 2006 with William DuVall sharing vocals and Mike Inez on bass, and they returned with Black Gives Way to Blue, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and Rainier Fog. Cantrell's guitar riffs and the twin harmonies of Cantrell and DuVall define a live show that remains a staple of rock festivals and arenas.
