Book Yaeji

Yaeji is the stage name of Kathy Yaeji Lee, a Brooklyn-based singer, DJ and producer born in 1993, whose music blends house and hip-hop with soft, hushed vocals delivered in both English and Korean. After college she returned to New York to immerse herself in the city's club and DJ scene, and in 2016 the label Godmode issued her first single, "New York '93", named for her birth year, along with a cover of Mall Grab's "Guap". Her self-titled debut EP arrived in 2017, and a breakout Boiler Room set that May, featuring her remix of Drake's "Passionfruit", drew wide attention. A run of singles followed, including "Therapy", "Last Breath" and "Drink I'm Sippin On", whose video spread quickly on the 88rising channel. Her second EP, EP2, came out in late 2017 to strong reviews and included the standout "Raingurl". She was named to the BBC Sound of 2018 longlist and played the Coachella festival in 2018. Her debut full-length album, With a Hammer, was released in 2023. Yaeji delivers an intimate yet danceable set that pairs cool, understated vocals with deep, bouncing club grooves.
