Book Walk The Moon
Walk The Moon is an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, best known for the infectious smash "Shut Up and Dance," alongside fan favorites "Anna Sun" (2010) and "One Foot." Frontman Nicholas Petricca launched the group in 2006 while studying at Kenyon College, borrowing the name from The Police song "Walking on the Moon." Drawing on Talking Heads and the keyboards and synthesizers of 1980s pop, the band built a bright, danceable sound that first caught fire with their independently released debut album, I Want! I Want! (2010), whose track "Anna Sun" earned play on alternative radio stations across the country. The tastemaker blog Neon Gold championed them in January 2011, and RCA Records signed the band a month later. That same year Walk The Moon started painting their faces before shows and bringing extra paint for the crowd, a ritual that became a fan tradition and was filmed by Bonnaroo's crew at the 2011 festival. Stages at Sasquatch, Firefly and Music Midtown followed, along with headline runs such as the Disco on the This Is Gospel Tour (2014) and the Dream Plane Tour (2021). They bring a high-energy, joyful party set built for dancing.
