Book Vulfpeck
Vulfpeck is an American funk and soul collective that came together in 2011 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, celebrated for tight grooves, wry humor and fiercely independent spirit. Started by multi-instrumentalist and bandleader Jack Stratton with fellow University of Michigan music students Theo Katzman, Woody Goss and Joe Dart, the group was conceived as an imagined German counterpart to legendary 1960s session crews like the Swampers, the Funk Brothers and the Wrecking Crew. From 2016 the circle widened with collaborators such as Louis Cato, Cory Wong, Joey Dosik, Antwaun Stanley, Charles Jones and Jacob Jeffries. The band first made headlines in 2014 with Sleepify, a silent album whose proceeds funded a free-admission tour. Their catalog includes Thrill of the Arts (2015), The Beautiful Game (2016), Mr. Finish Line (2017), Hill Climber (2018), The Joy of Music, the Job of Real Estate (2020), Schvitz (2022) and Clarity of Cal (2025), all on their own label. They famously sold out Madison Square Garden without a manager or label and followed with MSG II in 2025. Vulfpeck shows are joyful, virtuosic funk celebrations.
