Book The Cardigans
The Cardigans are a rock band from Jönköping, Sweden, formed in 1992. The main lineup pairs singer Nina Persson with Magnus Sveningsson on bass, Bengt Lagerberg on drums, Lars-Olof Johansson on keyboards and Peter Svensson on guitar, and in live shows since 2012 Oskar Humlebo has covered the guitar parts. Their debut album Emmerdale came out in 1994 and won them a loyal following at home and in Japan. They signed with Mercury Records in 1996 and went on to release Life, First Band on the Moon, Gran Turismo in 1998, Long Gone Before Daylight in 2003 and Super Extra Gravity in 2005, six studio albums in total. The band received the Musikexportpriset in 1997 for taking Swedish music abroad. Their sound blends sweet pop melodies with a darker, ironic edge, and the group is a distinctive attraction for festivals and large-scale events.
