Book Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney is the English fashion designer whose eponymous label, launched in 1997, has made her a leading name in luxury design and a pioneer of sustainable, animal-free fashion. The daughter of Paul McCartney and photographer and activist Linda McCartney, she showed an early gift for clothing, creating her first jacket at 13. At 16 she interned with Christian Lacroix on his first haute couture collection, and she spent several years refining her tailoring with Edward Sexton, her father's Savile Row tailor. After foundation studies at Ravensbourne, she studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins, graduating in 1995 with a runway show modeled by her friends Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Yasmin Le Bon, set to "Stella May Day," a song her father wrote for the occasion. A lifelong vegetarian and committed environmentalist, she uses no leather or fur, and her vegan-minded approach shapes the collections. Since 2004 she has also designed an ongoing collaboration line with Adidas. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2013 and a Commander in 2022. She speaks with conviction about creativity, craftsmanship and building a responsible fashion brand.
