Book She and Him
She & Him is an indie-folk duo formed in Portland, Oregon, in 2008. Zooey Deschanel sings and plays piano and ukulele, while M. Ward plays guitar and produces. Their first album, Volume One, arrived on March 18, 2008, on the independent label Merge Records, and its retro pop sound won an instant following. Volume Two came out in 2010, A Very She & Him Christmas in 2011, Volume 3 in 2013, Classics in 2014 and Christmas Party in 2016, and in 2022 they released Melt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson, seven studio albums in all. The pair is closely associated with the indie-folk revival of the mid-2000s, and their songs blend sixties girl-group pop, country and sunny harmonies with a charming vintage mood. Live, they offer a relaxed, charming and melodic evening.
