Book City and Colour
City and Colour is the project of Dallas Green, a producer, songwriter and singer from Canada who is also a singer, rhythm guitarist and songwriter in the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. Before that he played in the trio Helicon Blue, and he joined Alexisonfire in late 2001. He chose the name City and Colour by combining his own first name, Dallas, a city, with his surname, Green, a colour, because he felt uneasy releasing records under his own name. His first full-length album, Sometimes, arrived in 2005, and he played small, intimate venues between Alexisonfire tours. Bring Me Your Love followed in 2008, Little Hell in 2011, The Hurry and the Harm in 2013, If I Should Go Before You in 2015, A Pill for Loneliness in 2019 and The Love Still Held Me Near in 2023. He has won a CASBY Award. Green's high, aching voice and acoustic-led, folk-leaning songwriting set the tone for quiet, emotive live performances.
