Book Plaid

Plaid are the English electronic duo of Andy Turner and Ed Handley, longtime pillars of Warp Records whose intricate, melodic music has influenced a generation of electronic producers. The two were founding members of The Black Dog and recorded under several other names before settling on Plaid. Their albums include Not for Threes, Rest Proof Clockwork, Double Figure, Spokes, Scintilli, Reachy Prints, The Digging Remedy, Polymer and Feorm Falorx (2022), with releases on Clear, Peacefrog, Black Dog Productions, Warp and Trent Reznor's Nothing Records. They have worked with singers Björk, Nicolette and Mara Carlyle, and remixed artists including Björk, Goldfrapp and Red Snapper, collected on Parts in the Post (2003) and Stem Sell (2021). With video artist Bob Jaroc they created Greedy Baby, a 5.1 surround audiovisual project that premiered at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London's South Bank Centre and screened at the BFI IMAX before Warp released it on DVD in 2006. That year they also composed and performed the score for Michael Arias's anime film Tekkonkinkreet, then rejoined Arias for his feature Heaven's Door and two short films. Their live shows pair detailed electronics with synchronized visuals.
