Nine Days is an American rock band from St. James on Long Island, New York, formed in 1994 by songwriters John Hampson and Brian Desveaux. Inspired by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young, the pair built their sound on a simple test: a song had to hold up on acoustic guitar. The band cut its first album, Something to Listen To (1995), in nine days and took its name from that session, then followed with Monday Songs (1996) and Three (1998) while playing weekly at the Village Pub in Port Jefferson and winning local radio contests. Their major-label breakthrough, The Madding Crowd (2000), delivered the U.S. hit "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)." Later releases include So Happily Unsatisfied (2002), Flying the Corporate Jet (2003), Something Out of Nothing (2012) and Snapshots (2016). Nine Days brings melodic, hook-driven pop-rock and a signature turn-of-the-millennium anthem to the stage, with a set built on the strong songwriting that has defined the band from the start.
