Book VAST
VAST, short for Visual Audio Sensory Theater, is the American alternative rock project created by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jon Crosby, formed in Petaluma, California, in 1996. Crosby drew notice as a teenage guitar prospect in Guitar Player Magazine and built VAST from home demos into a band signed to Elektra Records. The sound blends ambient electro-rock with industrial and acoustic elements, combining acoustic guitar, electronics, driving drums and heavy bass, with vocals that range from classic rock to post-grunge. The debut Visual Audio Sensory Theater (1998) was followed by Music for People (2000), then Crimson (2003), Turquoise (2003), Nude (2004), April (2006), Me and You (2009) and Black Magic (2018), with later releases leaning toward acoustic rock. Crosby now releases music through 2blossoms, his own independent label, and the She Is Murder EP arrived in 2018. On stage, Crosby fronts a touring band that brings his cinematic, emotionally charged songs to life with both atmosphere and muscle.
